The Julie Byrne Band

Micky Byrne was born in Singapore. He was the youngest of four children; sister Martha who was adopted from an orphanage before he was born is the eldest, then brother James, sister Patsy and Micky. His father was a gynaecologist and delivered him at home.  His mother was a nurse when his parents met. When Micky came to England, he went to a boarding school in Spinkhill near Sheffield, but he always suffered from bad health and after a bout of rheumatic fever when he was 13 the family moved south and he went to Mount Grace School in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. It’s there that he learnt music and became a musician when he was 15 forming his first band a 4-piece, The Strollers. The school band was Micky Byrne (guitar), Martin Sage (Guitar), Stuart Wood (guitar) and Bob Allan (drums).

Julie-Byrne - Byrne 15

I videoed the Julie Byrne Band twice. The first was at The Ghostriders CMC, Blackheath on 16th May 1993.

The second time was three months later at the Adam & Eve CMC, Hayes on 26th August 1993.

Both are the full evening. All three sets.
