G Force

The G Force members, Glenn Rogers and Glyn Long will be well known to everyone.
Glyn Long has a very long history in Country music having been singing since the age of 11. He joined a beat group in the late 1960s and by the 1970s he was earning a living on the cabaret circuit; he wasn’t singing Country but always included some Country songs.
In 1979 he was asked to deputise for the drummer in popular Essex Country band, Hickory Lake and at the end of his stint with the band Vic Woodhouse offered him the job full time. When Vic decided to go fully professional with Hickory Lake around 1983 it was time for Glyn to move on.
Following the demise of the Ned Porridge Band, Ed Pearson joined Spellbound to replace Jeannie Spiller, Glyn also joined Spellbound which included, at that time, Tony Caldwell on lead guitar and Clive Grant on bass. In 1986 with the end of Spellbound, Glyn and Clive Grant joined Rio which was fronted by Steve Scott. Glyn only lasted with Rio for a few years, launching his own band, Longshot, in 1990. Longshot have been playing continuously for 31 years and are now generally seen as a duo.
Glenn Rogers has been surrounded by music all his life; much of it was Country music although he didn’t realise that’s what it was at the time. He was brought up in London’s East End where he developed his passion for entertaining, singing cockney songs around the piano in local pubs from the age of four. In the 1970s, he obtained music and technical theatre degrees from Brooks College, Oxford.
Glenn has been a professional entertainer for over 40 years, initially as a session musician before progressing to cabaret as a singer and comedian earning the nickname The Outrageous Glenn Rogers. He formed his first band, The Glenn Rogers Experience in 1985 playing middle of the road music but as he began to sing more Country the band became the Glenn Rogers Country Experience.
Having been depping with Longshot since 2016 it made sense to form a new duo, hence the launch of G Force who played their first gig at the Lazy K CMC on 25th July.
